SYSTEM INTEL // SAVE DATA

Save File Location on Windows & Linux

The full game stores save files inside a Steam-ID folder under the game's user-data directory. Back up the whole folder before editing, replacing or moving anything.

STATUS OFFICIAL CHECKED JUL 31 2026 BUILD STEAM RELEASE

Windows: open %APPDATA%, then enter the Sir, We Have an Orc Problem folder and your numeric Steam-ID folder. Save names match save*.save.

Windows save path

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Sir, We Have an Orc Problem\{64BitSteamID}\save*.save
  1. Press Win + R.
  2. Enter %APPDATA% and press Enter.
  3. Open Sir, We Have an Orc Problem.
  4. Open the folder named with your 64-bit numeric Steam ID.
  5. Copy the entire folder somewhere safe before changing any file.

Linux and SteamOS save path

~/.local/share/Sir, We Have an Orc Problem/{64BitSteamID}/

The Steam Cloud configuration replaces the Windows roaming-data root with this Linux home path. Files and directories beginning with a dot are hidden by default, so use your file manager's “show hidden files” command if .local is not visible.

Close the game before restoring a backup

Steam Cloud can synchronize a newer file over the copy you intended to restore. Exit the game first, make a backup of the current directory, and pay attention to Steam's local-versus-cloud conflict prompt if one appears.

Demo and playtest folders are different

Older demo and playtest configurations used folders containing “Demo” or “Playtest.” Do not assume those files are the active full-game save. The path above comes from the current app 4594150 cloud-save configuration.

If the folder is missing

  • Launch the game through Steam and allow it to create or synchronize a save.
  • Confirm you opened the roaming AppData folder, not Local or LocalLow.
  • Check for more than one numeric Steam-ID subfolder if the computer uses multiple Steam accounts.
  • Verify that hidden files are visible on Linux.
